Parents First Call
Congratulations on Your New Baby!
A Down syndrome diagnosis for your baby can result in a wide range of emotions. You are not alone –– each year in the United States, about 1 in every 700 babies are born with Down syndrome. The Champlain Valley Down Syndrome Group has collaborated with Vermont Family Network to establish a Parents First Call program. We are here for you and can offer free information, resources and opportunities to connect with a parent mentor.
Program Mission
Support parents who have received a prenatal or birth diagnosis of Down syndrome for their child.
We Have Been There
Our trained parent mentors also received a Down syndrome diagnosis for their child. We are available for confidential conversations and can provide resources and information.
